Originally from Edinburgh Scotland, I qualified in electronics engineering before attending the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama studying Theatre Lighting and Stage Craft. I went on to work in stage management and as a Theatre Lighting Designer.
Swapping the Theatre for Cinema I continued a career in the camera department. Following some years working as a Lighting Cameraman on Documentaries I was accepted into the American Film Institute Conservatory for advanced Film and Television Studies in Hollywood where I studied Cinematography.
While in the United States I worked as an operator and lit a number of dramas and commercials.
On returning to the U.K. I was appointed head of cameras for Mentorn films where I supervised the shooting of their varied output.
I have specialist skills in Digital Cinematography, Timelapse Motion Control Photography, Anamorphic Shooting and Blue and Green Screen Techniques as well as experience in Post Production and Film Laboratory Procedures.
